“This is the sixth Epson photo printer I’ve owned. They’ve all been excellent, but this one is the best by a wide margin. I’m extremely fussy about print quality, and the 2880 exceeded my expectations “right out of the box.”
“I have owned this printer for only a few days. In that time I have printed over 200 prints. I have printed both 8.5 by 11 and 13 by 19 inch prints without any difficulty. If you’ve wanted a printer that could handle tabloid size (11- by 17-inch) paper or larger but didn’t think you could justify the high price, the Epson WorkForce 1100 was made for you. Just $199.99 direct from Epson, it’s the least expensive tabloid-size printer I’ve seen yet. Even better, its printing talents don’t stop at tabloid size. It also prints on supertabloid paper at up to 13 by 19 inches and on banner paper at up to 13 by 44 inches. And it doesn’t hurt at all that the output quality is above par for text, graphics, and photos.
As you might expect from an inexpensive tabloid-size printer, the 1100 doesn’t offer a lot of extras. You won’t find any photocentric features like printing from memory cards, cameras, or USB memory keys, and it’s even a short on office-centric features.
Aside from the ability to print on large-size paper, the 1100′s paper handling is meager at best, with only one tray, a 100-sheet input capacity, no duplexer (for printing on both sides of a page), and no available options. It’s also limited to connecting by USB cable, which means it’s not a good choice if you need to share a printer.
Given the low paper capacity and lack of any network connector, the natural home for the WorkForce 1100 is in a micro or home office, although it could also serve as a personal printer in a larger office. It’s worth mention too that even though it’s intended as an office printer, the graphics and photo quality is good enough so that you might want to consider it as an inexpensive printer for graphic arts or photography at tabloid size and larger.

Although you may feel that you don’t need to invest in buying an professional photo printer, you could be wrong. Don’t get me wrong, there are many affordable photo printers that are capable of printing very high quality images. The whole argument boils down to what significant special gadgets and processing speed comes with premium professional photo printers? Canon Pixma iP4700- Street Price $100.00
To print text, graphics plus photographs, Pixma iP4700 is the best representative of high quality of print quality and value. Consisting of two paper trays the user can have a choice regular paper and photo paper. The print quality for photos is excellent giving a lot of detail. It also prints out in duplex. The only caveat is that it does not have a LCD screen to preview shots. Also, replacing ink cartridges costs about $60 for five.
HP Photosmart D7560- Street Price $150.00
The D7560 has a LCD screen for previewing pictures before printing. The HP printer 3.5-inch LCD enables a quick print installation. Photo quality gives minute details, and text printing is normal. It has U-turn paper path, so it’s good for printing photos, but not for hard greeting cards, stiff envelopes or stiff paper. Print speeds are fast and you can use memory cards. The cost of buying ink for five cartridges runs you about $50, and last about 6 to 8 months with normal printer usage.

The Epson Stylus Photo 1400 for its price range does give you professional lab image printing. The color prints are very true to their images and old black and white photos print out great also. The high level of details shows color precision mimicking to be very sharp with accurate colors. Text printing is bearable and this model comes with the direct printing feature, which you can go straight from the camera to printer.
